Ashakiranam(Cancer Care Campaign)

‘Ashakiranam’ is a ray of hope for a bright future life. It is a campaign on the burden of disease Cancer. We train volunteers who are experts on the methods of preventing cancer. Ashakiranam takes initiatives on Good food habits, Organic and Natural farming, Physical exercise, etc. It creates awareness on General Public, organizes local volunteer groups to resist the disease, medical camps for focus groups, rehabilitate affected families and persons. Clubbed with financial and medical support for these, we receive resources from the people of good will.

Jan Shikshan Sansthan Palakkad (JSS Palakkad)
    JSS Palakkad (Institute of People's Education) is functioning under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India as the vocational skill training Institute of Palakkad District. It imparts skill training to the unemployed and underemployed persons in multifarious location specific vocations. People's Service Society Palakkad is the parent N.G.O of this Institute in the district.
Unique Achievements of PSSP
  • People's Service Society, Palakkad was the pioneer in the promotion of Mahila Samajams and Self Helf Groups (SHGs) in the district early 80's.
  • Rain Water Harvesting methodologies were introduced in Palakkad District in late 90's.
  • Introduced Zero Budget Natural Farming in Kerala State.
  • Facilitating watershed development programmes for the last 20 years with the support of Western Ghat Development Programme, NABARD, CAPART and other funding agencies
  • Interest free JLG loan to farmers with the support of Bank.
  • Introducing cluster based jack fruit processing and value addition in Palakkad District with the support of SFAC and RKVY.
Saphalyam(Housing Project)

Saphalyam is a housing scheme for poor families in the Palakkad District. In the first phase we constructed 25 houses with the financial aid from Syro Malabar Cultural Association (SMCA) Kuwait.

In the 2nd phase with collaboration of Save a Family Plan (SAFP) we construct 50 more houses on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of SAFP and the Ruby Jubilee of PSSP.

Latest Awards
  • People’s Service Society was recognized by a State Award from ‘Kerala State Suchithwamission’ for its timely achievement of construction of rest rooms attached to 140 households to be the best Supporting Organization in KRWSA funded Jalanidhi Panchayaths at Lakkidi-Peroor, Palakkad in November 2016.
  • PSSP was awarded with Second Prize by Kerala State Industries Department for its best performance in the B to B meet in Cochin, in 2nd to 6th February 2016 for Jackfruit stall.
  • PSSP was awarded 1st prize for its best stall in the Kerala State Backward Communities Development Corporation Palakkad Fest conducted at Palakkad on January 2017.
Migrant Suraksha TI Project

PSSP MIGRANT SURAKSHA project was started in September 2014 in Malappuram District under the aegis of People’s Service Society, Palakkad. In Kerala, It is implementing by Kerala State Aids Control Society (KSACS). The main objective of the project is the welfare of the migrant community as a whole. This consists of conducting researches, surveys and identifying needs, providing health services and awareness, implementing different programs, events and schemes in convergence with government and nongovernment organizations, thereby enabling migrants to have a positive change in their life as well as in the society.

KSACS was formed to implement the National AIDS Control Programme (NACP) in Kerala state. It works under the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) which is a part of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Government of India. The National AIDS Control Programme is fully funded by the Government of India and by international donors.
